Choose the First AI Workflow: A Small, Checkable Pilot

Start with a process whose current steps are visible and whose output a person can review. Repetition alone does not mean a task needs AI or is automatically safe. Compare a form and fixed rules too.

Example: compare two candidates

In this fictional example, a small carpentry workshop compares sorting customer enquiries with automatically sending quotations. A classification draft can be checked, while an incorrect automatic email could contain an unintended commitment. The workshop therefore tests sorting first and a person checks every result. Prices, commitments and sending remain manual. This illustrates a decision; it is not a claim about an existing feature.

Decide before the test

1. Compare frequency, time spent, available inputs, consequences of errors and how errors can be corrected.
2. Name the owner and define when review and approval happen. Send incomplete or contradictory cases to that person for clarification.
3. Check data access and storage locations. Start with approved examples.
4. Define how to record handling time, corrections and missed cases, then compare them with the current process.

Decide after the pilot

Review the results and effort with the people involved. Correct, limit or stop the test if quality is insufficient; decide on real cases only after that review. Learn more about AI automation.
