Local live captions for Windows without cloud processing

Aurora Subtitles is a Windows desktop app for local live captions and real-time translation. It is designed for users who prefer running the core AI pipeline on their own PC instead of paying for a cloud transcription subscription.

What runs locally

Aurora runs the core transcription and translation workflow locally using Whisper, Silero VAD, TranslateGemma, WASAPI audio capture, and NVIDIA GPU acceleration.

Activation, license validation, updates, and model downloads may contact servers. The core captioning and translation workflow is designed to run on your compatible Windows machine.

Why no cloud minute credits matter

Cloud services often charge monthly fees or meter usage because server processing has ongoing costs. Aurora uses your local NVIDIA GPU, so it does not need a per-minute cloud credit model for everyday captioning.

Best fit

Aurora is best for:

Not best for

Aurora is not best for users without compatible Windows/NVIDIA hardware, users who need a mobile app, or users who need certified medical accessibility equipment or professional interpretation services.
